As Dundalk FC stood on the cusp of achieving a historic third successive Irish League title, we explored the extraordinary legacy of the team’s great captains and met the influential men who have led Dundalk to greatness: John Murphy (1962-63), Dermot Keely (1979-1981) right up to today’s captain Stephen O’Donnell, who has led the club to unprecedented success in recent years.
“The Captain’s Armband” is the third part of the Fyffes Dundalk ‘trilogy’ which has charted the SSE Airtricity League-winning team over the last three years, and spurred on both the team and the town to victory.
